The Rainbow Bridge Story

The Rainbow Bridge
— a symbol of hope

The Rainbow Bridge is a serene land adorned with sprawling meadows and rolling hills. Our beloved pets wait there, joyful and restored to full health, patiently watching over us with love until the moment we meet again.

The origins trace back to 1959, when a 19-year-old Edna Clyne-Rekhy penned the original Rainbow Bridge Poem — words that would become one of the most cherished pieces of literature on pet loss and mourning.

The Rainbow Bridge Poem · 1959

Edna Clyne-Rekhy's Original Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge...
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together...

"Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge."
